Compass Center

The Compass Center helps individuals and families prevent and end domestic violence and become self-sufficient. We provide domestic violence crisis services, career and financial education, assistance with legal resources, and adolescent empowerment programs.

Families Moving Forward

Families Moving Forward offers a temporary home to families with children in the crisis of homelessness. Working together, we create a path to stability and self-sufficiency through personalized services and ongoing community support. We provide a temporary home for up to 21 families at a time. There are many ways that you or your group or congregation can help us.

Green Chair Project

The Green Chair Project provides home furnishings donated from our community for families and individuals who have transitioned from experiencing homelessness or disasters and have secured sustainable housing. The reusable gifts are cleaned and repaired by volunteers and are presented in a way that promotes dignity and respect.

Senior Pharmassist

Promotes healthier living for Durham seniors by helping them obtain and better manage needed medications, and by providing health education, Medicare insurance counseling, community referral and advocacy.

SEEDS – Durham

SEEDS teaches respect for life, for the earth and for each other through gardening and growing food. Located in the heart of Durham, we promote principles of sustainable agriculture, organic gardening, food security and environmental stewardship through a variety of garden-based programs.

Friends of Wake County Guardian Ad Litem

The Friends of the Wake County Guardian ad Litem Program provides enrichment opportunity funds and needed items for impoverished children including ones in foster care, out-of-home kinship placements, families working hard to break the cycle of poverty and youth who have aged out of foster care.
