Why do we give a hoot?

We want to build local philanthropic communities so that women are connected, nonprofits are funded and lives are changed.

Life is busy. As women, we juggle work, family, social activities and more. We find ourselves wanting to give our time and resources where possible, but are often burned out or over-extended. After a while, it’s not uncommon to realize we’re on the other side, where we feel have a bit more time and could be doing more to give back. So where do we start? Volunteering? Donating? How do we know where our donations are going and if they’re really having an impact?

100 Women Who Give a Hoot exists for the everyday woman who has a heart to give back in a meaningful way. She loves her community, cares deeply about others and has a desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She realizes her voice and her time matter, and she wants to use both wisely. When she donates her time and money, she chooses carefully, eager to know that it will improve the lives of people in the place that she calls home.
